The Metaphor Key has four components

The Earth and life on Earth metaphors the spirit of man-the Kosmos-Ruah Metaphor (KRM)

1. Parallels established by Genesis 1(God said=God the Father…God made=Jesus/The Word)

As God the Father alone (No follow up God made statement)  lets ‘light be’, so, what this light does for life on Earth will parallel what God the Father does for our spirit. Born again Earth and born again spirit. As God the Father alone (No God made statement) separated out the land mass and called it ‘Earth’, so, what the Earth does for life on Earth will parallel what God the Father does for our spirit. Born again Earth and born again spirit.

‘Earth’ = God the Father

As the Holy Spirit alone ‘broods’ upon the waters and Jesus (God made) makes a firmament to hold the waters, so, what waters do for life on Earth will parallel what the Holy Spirit and Jesus do for our spirit. Born again Earth and born again spirit.

‘Waters’ = The Holy Spirit and (within the firmament)-Jesus

Throughout Genesis ‘God said’ (God the Father purposes)….' God made’ (Jesus).So, whatever Jesus made parallels what Jesus makes for our spirit. Born again Earth and born again spirit. What the sun, moon and stars do for life on Earth so, Jesus does for our spirit

‘The firmament, the sun, moon, the stars’ = Jesus

‘fish, whales, birds, moving/living creatures, beasts of the earth, cattle, and creeping things’. What these represent Jesus has accomplished for man.

2. Other Biblical  Parallels and ‘Typing’

The kosmos-metaphor  (KRM) throughout Genesis 1 and 2 is established by Paul  in  (2 Corinthians 4:6) . So, the earth also ‘types’ man’s spirit too as well as God the Father’s and this is differentiated  by context. (It also hints at the origin an constituents of our spirit).

Dry land -our pre-saved spirit  in God (Joel 2:22).

Seas- our spiritual waters after salvation

‘Earth’ = Man’s spirit - so, depending on context, earth can be man  or God the Father

‘Seed’ = The redeemed (Galatians 3:16) (Galatians 3:29)  Grass = the unsaved (Isaiah 40:6-7) (1Peter 1:24)   Grass and Herbs = mankind (2 Kings19:26) (Isaiah 37:27).

3. Established double/multiple  meanings.

‘Heaven’ =  (I) Our atmosphere  (ii) the cosmos   (III)  an abode of God (within man)

‘Firmament’ =  an empty space within (I) Our atmosphere  (ii) the cosmos   (III)  an abode of God (within man)

‘Deep’ =  (i) the oceans  (ii) Deep places (our soul)

‘Evening’ =  Night time (but night is darkness-Genesis 1:5). So, Darkness

‘Morning’ = Coming day (but day is light--Genesis 1:5), So, coming light.

‘Kind’ = (I) a category of plant/animal  (ii) the family of the triune God

‘Nephesh chayyah’ = (I) small creatures that have life (II) the spiritual constituents of the triune God (a noun when In God -a verb when in man- in consistency  with the metaphor of our spirit being life on Earth-living, moving and creeping), Nephesh chayyah ‘copied and pasted’-God to man.

‘Adam’ = (I) Adam  (II) man kind

4. logical ‘Typing’ by Extension

Animate life for animate life- gifts/works from the triune God:

‘Beasts of the Earth’ = gifts from God the Father and/or these gifts in man

‘Beasts of the Field’ = synonymous with ‘beasts of the earth’  but from an ‘interactive governance’ viewpoint  Confirming gifts that are not within the Garden of Eden (which metaphors our indwelling, so not the indwelling ‘package’) so, originally from God the Father.

‘Fowl’= gifts from The Holy Spirit-some given to some. ‘Winged  fowl’ = the gifts in man, ‘Fowls of the air’ = Gifts from the holy spirit being used by man and or by The Holy Spirit

Cattle =  The in dwellings of Jesus and The Holy Spirit (The biggest animal available within the category - domesticated animals under human shelter-sacrificial too)

‘Whales’ = synonymous with cattle-The in dwellings of Jesus and The Holy Spirit (The biggest animal available within the category)

‘Ground’ = The spirit of man influenced and changed by the Holy Spirit-(in  Gen. 2:5-6)

‘Seed yielding Herb’ = Jesus

‘Seed bearing Herb’ = Saved man

‘The fruit tree yielding fruit  whose seed is in itself’  = the Holy Spirit  carrying our indwelling ‘package’). ‘Was in itself’ the Holy Spirit  having given the indwelling package’ to man)

‘Every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed’ =  The Holy spirit, Jesus, God the Father,  understanding of scripture- knowledge of good and evil-all as presented by The Holy spirit.

‘Seas’ = our own spiritual waters when enhanced by The Holy Spirit

‘Fish of the sea’ = gifts from our living waters, our Holy Spirit enhanced waters, Holy spirit gifts given to all at salvation.

‘Kind’ =  The family of God-and our recognition of it.

‘The Garden of Eden’ = The entire ‘package’ of our indwellings
